How Author29 handles information, including data from Google when you authorize access.

Last updated August 26, 2026

Who we are

Author29 is a studio run by Jonathan Evans in Phoenix, Arizona. We build platforms, proposals, and related services for people who own the outcome.

This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. Questions: hello@author29.com.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Author29, we may collect:

  • Contact and project details you send us: name, email, company, message, and anything you include in a proposal review, comment, or agreement.
  • Portal and contract activity when you open a client link: views, notes, signature name and title, and the status of a deal.
  • Payment information through Stripe. We receive payment status and related identifiers. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Booking details if you schedule a call through Calendly (name, email, and the time you pick).
  • Usage data such as pages viewed, device and browser type, referring site, and approximate location. We use PostHog for this when analytics are enabled.
  • Google account data if you authorize Author29 to access Google APIs. See Google user data below.

How we use it

We use this information to:

  • Reply to inquiries and run the work you asked us to do
  • Operate client portals, proposals, agreements, and payments
  • Send transactional email (receipts, contract copies, follow-ups)
  • Understand how the site is used and keep it working
  • Provide features you enable by connecting a Google account
  • Meet legal, security, and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising.

Google user data

Some Author29 products and client work ask you to sign in with Google or grant access through Google Cloud. When you do, we only request the scopes needed for the feature you chose. That may include identity (name, email, profile), calendar, email, files, or Google Business Profile data, depending on the product.

We use Google user data solely to provide and improve those features: for example, reading or writing the records you asked us to handle, showing you status in the product, and troubleshooting when something fails. We do not use Google user data to serve ads. We do not sell it. We do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to run the service you requested (for example, hosting) or as required by law.

Human access to Google user data is limited to cases where it is needed to operate or fix the product, respond to a support request you initiated, meet a legal obligation, or investigate a security issue.

Author29's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke access at any time in your Google Account permissions. You can also email hello@author29.com and we will delete Google user data we hold for that connection, unless we are required to keep a record.

Who we share it with

We share information with processors who help us run the studio, under their own terms:

  • Vercel (hosting)
  • Neon (database)
  • Stripe (payments)
  • Resend (email)
  • PostHog (product analytics)
  • Calendly (scheduling, when you book a call)
  • Google (when you connect a Google account)

We may also share information if the law requires it, or if we need to protect Author29, a client, or the public.

Cookies and similar tech

The site uses cookies and similar storage to keep admin sessions signed in and, when PostHog is configured, to measure how pages are used. Analytics cookies are not required to read the public site or to send a contact message.

How long we keep it

We keep contact, deal, and contract records for as long as we need them to deliver the work, keep an accurate business record, or meet tax and legal requirements. Analytics data is kept according to our PostHog project settings. Google user data tied to a connection is kept only while that connection is active, plus a short period afterward unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

Security

We use HTTPS, access-controlled admin tools, and processors that encrypt data in transit. Client portals use unguessable links. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you as required by law.

Your choices

Email hello@author29.com to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will honor that unless we have a legal reason to keep a record (for example, a signed agreement or a payment).

If you are in the EEA, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, you may also have the right to object to certain processing or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Children

Author29 is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continued use of the site or a connected Google account after an update means you have seen the revised policy.
